Artists Joanna Geldard and Walt Shaw come together to produce a sound and visual art installation, Surface in the main auditorium. This will culminate in a live performance on Thursday 17th April at 7.30pm. Surface, the live performance, is a fusion of contemporary dance and percussion/electronics, involving improvisation in a tight structure in the installation, with audience in the round. Joanna is a renowned dancer and visual artist from Leeds, who fuses her extensive experience in both areas within this piece. Walt is an experimental musician and performance artist from the Burton area and is no stranger to Brewhouse performances. The ephemeral and fluid nature of Surface is reflected
in the shifting forces between the installation, dancer and musician, in a work which ranges between extremes of great subtlety and raw, visceral expression. The work has evolved out of a two year collaborative dialogue between the artists.
